1-2-1 Dog Training At Your Home

I offer this service to dog owners because for many problems it is essential to see the dog in their home environment first before trying to diagnose a problem.

I often find that especially with the majority of problem, it is something within the home environment that affects the dog or perhaps how one or more family members interact with them. This is why a home consultation is important for helping you and your dog.

For general training purposes owners can sometimes feel embarrassed about bringing their dog to training classes if they are unruly, bositerous or aggressive towards other dogs.

This is something I completely understand, however I aim to work with your dog so that should you wish to, you can start to attend training classes where you and your dog will learn much more.

Puppy And Dog Rehoming

Consultation

Many future dog owners simply take a breed or a specific dog from a rehoming centre on face value, the dog looks very handsome or pretty and well mannered, but the potential adopters do not do enough research into the mannerisms, exercise requirements, care requirements and potential health problems that could occur.

I want to stop the trend of seeing dogs being sent out onto the streets or brought into rehoming centres because their owners cannot cater for their needs. Too many times have I seen dogs being bounced from one home to the next because an owner did not do any research on the dog.

My aim is to sit and consult with you about possible breeds or if you have already seen a dog you are wanting to take into your home I can view the dog on location with you and provide feedback on any potential problems as well as the positive findings.

In both the cases of purchasing a new puppy or rehoming a dog, this can potentially save you a lot of money and if the dog is not right for you, as well as the distress of having to to find the dog another suitable home or taking them to a rehoming centre.

The Dog Training And Services I Offer

The services listed below are based on visits taking place within a 10 mile radius of the Cleckheaton region. Please see my rates for excess mileage outside of this radius.

Whenever I participate in any sort of consultation or training session I will bring with me my own high value food items along with any training equipment necessary for completing the exercises.

Please read the next section below as it is very important you follow the instructions.

What You Need To Do Before A Consulation With Me
It is always necessary before any training or behavioural therapy session that:

Your dog is walked for at least 30 minutes before the session is due to start;

You have not fed the dog any food for 2 hours before the session. This means the dog will be happy to accept food as a reward.

These actions will put your dog in the right frame of mind for wanting to learn and cooperate in any exercises that I set.
