Hints And Tips For Working And
Training With Your Dog
I've compiled a number of hints and tips that might help you to understand your dog's needs and how to communicate with them to create a lasting bond.
The main consideration is to establish yourself as their 'Guardian', someone that if they cooperate with they will be rewarded for it.
In the You And Your Dog: Hints and Tips section I'll tell you how you can do this in the Teaching Your Dog To Co-operate column as well as learning how to bond with your dog through exercise and playing.
Becoming Your Dog's GuardianSupport Your Local Dogs Trust!

I am a big fan of Dogs Trust and the work they do for our lovable canine friends. Dogs Trust never put a healty dog down and do a lot to rescue as many dogs from the local dog pounds as they can.
Dog's trust needs dog lovers like yourself to volunteer for duties such as fund raising, dog walking and dog socialisation. All of these roles are important to each of the rehoming centres around the UK and I ask you to consider helping out.
Dog walking is particularly enjoyable and help from volunteers is appreciated, especially when you consider that the staff from each centre can have up to 100 dogs to look after every day! You can choose to volunteer for any day you like and can walk one or many dogs depending upon your preference.
If you feel you are too busy to volunteer then please look into becoming a Dogs Trust member or sponsor as your donations help to provide food, treats, bedding and toys that make a dog's stay less stressful while they wait for a loving new family to take them into their home.

75% of issues with dog behaviour is due to their owners not knowing how to communicate with them.
My aim is to help you communicate with your dog and resolve
common training issues or unwanted behaviour
Importantly, if I feel I cannot help you after initially talking to you then I will do my best to put you in touch with a trainer who can help.
I work with dog owners on 1-2-1 basis, this allows me to concentrate entirely on you and your dog and also to assess behaviour in your home and other areas you go to and create a solution to help.
I can provide:
1-2-1 Basic training;
1-2-1 Help for troubled dogs;
Consultation services on buying puppies or rehoming dogs.
I have studied and worked with dogs for over 6 years, taking methods from various sources on training to create a number of training exercises to help you understand your dog and to project what you want from them.
I am a qualified Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour (ADTB) Instructor, whose ethos is that dogs should be trained with positive reinforcement and motivation rather than behaviour altering devices unless there is no other alternative. Dogs should never have negative experiences at the hands of their owners - I do not use or condone choke chains or any type of equipment that brings harm or stress to a dog.
Please feel free to browse through my website, find out more about me, read client testimonials and see how I can help you with your pet, then simply email or call me and I will arrange to come visit you and discuss the problems you are having.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
